OUR PROJECTS

During the three-day mission in Sri Lanka, our main focus was on medical examinations and treatments by our volunteer doctor Dr. Janina Beilner, as well as an educational campaign on dental and hygiene measures by Dr. Michael Kloep and Chris Beilner, who made efficient use of the long waiting times.

D.R.O.P.S. and two general practitioners, two dentists and more than 20 volunteers participated in this large-scale mission and cared for more than 500 people in need. This was an extraordinary achievement for all the doctors, as the medical equipment could only be operated by diesel generators.

Thanks to our sponsors, D.R.O.P.S. built a permanent playground in Uganda and supported the development of a local education system. Providing children of these slums with a safe place to live and experience life fosters trust and community and creates a foundation for further learning.

Trained volunteers from D.R.O.P.S. imparted vital precautionary information to protect and strengthen the immune system to people living in the northwest of Sri Lanka in the poorest conditions. They gave simple and practical tips on daily hygiene, especially oral and personal hygiene, which is often neglected in this extremely precarious environment.

During a two-day marathon the D.R.O.P.S. team with two dentists as well as a general practitioner, with the support of 20 volunteers and in direct collaboration with the JCW Dream Africa International Foundation as well as the Korean Church in Dubai, cared for over 400 patients.

Since dental care in northeastern Kenya in particular is inadequate or non-existent, D.R.O.P.S. initiated a dental care program with volunteers and local doctors."Healthy teeth for all" was the motto of the dental health awareness program, which was both effective and fun for the children.

In Bujuko, things like clean water or basic food are wishful thinking; there is no electricity and no medical care. D.R.O.P.S. and Dr. Y. D. On's team created moving moments of one drop of help that could give many people a few moments of joy and hope.

The D.R.O.P.S. team, led by the dentist Dr. Ons, visited particularly remote areas of Madagascar and treated numerous patients of all ages free of charge. Information on daily hygiene and preventive health care was an important part of the program in order to impart sustainable knowledge.
