Medical mission in Bujuko, Uganda (June/July 2012)

Project description:

Medical care in Bujuko

Although we have access to endless information worldwide thanks to the Internet, Bujuko, in the Mukono District of Uganda, is still a household name to virtually no one. The only way we learned about Bujuko was through a doctor who had previously been there on a medical mission. She too had heard about this small village by word of mouth.

We learned about this remote place where poverty has taken hold from Dr. Yunson Denise Ons. In this region, things like clean water or basic food are wishful thinking, and there is no electricity or medical care. They rely on their own vegetation, which doesn't provide much for their meals. It was very sad to observe their lifestyle. Her first visit motivated Dr. Y. D. Ons to activate sponsors to support the people there.

D.R.O.P.S. volunteers supported Dr. Ons medical mission from June 29 to July 05, 2012, creating moving snapshots of a drop of help that could give a few moments of joy and hope to many people. Our presence was a true blessing for the people of Bujuko, as they appreciated our commitment to improve their well-being and provide them with a better future.

We thank all the supporters for their efforts, as well as the Dubai Korean Church, for making this outreach a reality. Dr. Yunson Denise On and her team from Dubai Cosmetic Dentistry Clinic have done an extraordinary job.
