Social Support during Economic Crisis - Sri Lanka (April 2022)

Project description:

D.R.O.P.S. is providing funds to support the Dimuthu Foundation during the economic crisis.

The economic crisis is mainly due to political instability, the aftermath of Covid and the 2019 bombings in Sri Lanka. All of this has greatly affected tourism in the country. People are facing daily power outages and shortages of basic goods such as fuel, food and medicine. Inflation is running at more than 50%.

The Dimuthu Foundation, led by Father Jude, is located in the heart of Colombo and is dedicated to caring for underprivileged people, children without parents and disabled children, and continuously support them in their daily needs.

“Life is not about giving up or giving in. Life is about giving.” – Anthony Douglas Williams

In these difficult times, D.R.O.P.S. provided financial support for the educational needs of the poorer children and for the basic needs of the underprivileged and elderly who are directly affected by the current crisis.

PROJECT SUMMARY

During the difficult times of the economic crisis, D.R.O.P.S. provided financial support to assist Dimuthu Foundation in its work to empower underprivileged people, children without parents and disabled children. It is precisely these people who are affected by the impact of the economic crisis.
